Create Multilingual website with Yahoo Translation Tools

Add Yahoo Language Translation using Yahoo Linguistic Tools.

With over 65% of web users speaking a language other than English, providing the means of translating websites with English content to another language is very essential.

This is short tutorial for adding Yahoo Language Translation to your blog or website. Non-English speaking visitors to your website can translate your website content with a simple click of the mouse.

Earlier, we discussed techniques to create a multilingual website using World Lingo, Google Translate and Altavista Babelfish. Yahoo! Translation Technology is powered by Systran.

Yahoo Systran Translation can convert English content pages to Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), Dutch, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Greek, Japanese, Korean Portuguese and Russian. The translated pages can even be bookmarked.

Your website visitors will see a list of languages that they convert the current webpage in a drop-down menu like the one below.

Remember to replace URL_GOES_HERE with the permanent link (URL) of the webpage where you are putting the translation code.

Note - an international web site is one that is intended for an international audience, and a multilingual web site refers to a web site that uses more than one language. An international web site may or may not be multilingual, just as a multilingual web site may or may not be international.

PhishTank Detects Phishing Websites by Digg Style Voting

OpenDNS, a free service that helps anyone surf the Internet faster with a simple DNS tweak , will announce PhishTank today. PhishTank is a free public database of phishing URLs where anyone can submit their phishes via email or through the website. The submissions are verified by the other community members who then vote for the suspected site. This is such a neat idea as sites can be categorized just based on user feedback without even having to manually verify each and every submission. PhishTank employs the "feedback loop" mechanism where users will be kept updated with the status' of the phish they submit either via email alerts or a personal RSS feed . Naturally, once the PhishTank databases grows, other sites can harness the data using open APIs which will remain free.
