Comparison of ISD rates in India

Reliance Infocomm, Tata Indicom (VSNL), Bharti, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd are the key players in the calling card segment.

Almost all service operators have similar charges for the most-common destinations. Reliance, Tata Indicom and Airtel offer Rs 7.20 a minute for calls made from India to a landline in the US, Canada and Europe, while MTNL charges Rs 9 a minute.

Calls made to mobile phones in Europe are charged at Rs 13.99 by Bharti, while MTNL charges Rs 9 a minute. Reliance and Tata Indicom are the cheapest at Rs 7.20 a minute

If you intend to call South East Asian countries, the cheapest option is MTNL’s calling cards wherein the rates are Rs 9 a minute compared with Reliance, Tata Indicom and Bharti which charge Rs 9.60 a minute.

In case, calls are outbound for Middle East, the best option is to go in for Bharti’s Airtel cards at Rs 16.99 a minute, while MTNL, Reliance and Tata Indicom charge Rs 18 a minute.

OpenDNS, a free service that helps anyone surf the Internet faster with a simple DNS tweak , will announce PhishTank today. PhishTank is a free public database of phishing URLs where anyone can submit their phishes via email or through the website. The submissions are verified by the other community members who then vote for the suspected site. This is such a neat idea as sites can be categorized just based on user feedback without even having to manually verify each and every submission. PhishTank employs the "feedback loop" mechanism where users will be kept updated with the status' of the phish they submit either via email alerts or a personal RSS feed . Naturally, once the PhishTank databases grows, other sites can harness the data using open APIs which will remain free.
